Bigger and Better in 2024 !
So much has happened in the past year of 2023 it would take ages to list all the changes and we prefer to talk about what’s ahead instead of what has gone. The facilites we offer have improved dramatically with a core team of dedicated unpaid volunteers doing everything possible to provide an incredibly valuable community resource.
During this past year we have engaged with many diverse communities living and working our area and have embraced many different cultures, enriching Awestruck Academy as a result.
We also see on a daily basis people suffering from deprivation and social exclusion and economic poverty. Much of it as a result of mental health issues and we relentlessly campaign for better understanding and more resources to help alleviate what is nothing short of a scandal.
Many supporters within and outwith the corridors of power at West Dunbartonshire Council recognise the problems and it has to be said fairly do whatever is in their power to help. We thank everyone who takes an active role in making our community a better one.
We see at first hand the terrible consequences poor mental health and poverty wreaks on families, and we witness the devastating effect it has on our younger generations when it contributes to deprive them of a decent future.
We must acknowledge the many people who are generous with their time, effort and occasionally their money who donate to us to help us continue to struggle for a better life for all. Thank you each and every one of you !
Awestruck Academy is a not-for-profit organisation and we rely on our volunteers, supporters, sponsors and funders. Without you our work could not take place.
We know everyone feels the icy cold of the cost of living crisis and would never accept anything that was not affordably given. If you do have anything you think might help us please get in touch. If you don’t have anything, get in touch anyway. We might have something going on that would benefit you !
